Analysis of micro-contaminants in flounder liver from the Euromonding and the North Sea Canal
This report descibes a study in which micro-contaminants - polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), organochlorine pesticides (OCPs), polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDEs), polybromobiphenyls (PBBs), nonylphenols and ethoxylates and trace metals (cadmium, chromium, mercury and zinc) were determined in flounder liver from the Euromonding (Port of Rotterdam) and the Noordzeekanaal (Port of Amsterdam). This study is part of a study on the selection of the most reliable biomarkers for further use in monitoring programmes involving the marine and estuarine environments.
