3-D silt transport model with subgrid-scale resolution
A 3-D-model for the spreading of silt after a point release in a coastal sea with vertical and horizontal density gradients is described. A vertical coordinate tranformation is applied. The lower layers are parallel to the bottom. An extended version of the second moment method of Egan and Mahoney, Taking into account the covariances of concentration plumes not aligned with the grid, has been used for the calculation of the advection silt.
