Large-scale hydrodynamic impacts of airport islands

Deals with the large-scale hydrodynamic impacts of airport islands. In chapter 2 the sensitivity analysis regarding the wind forcing are presented. Chapter 3 discusses the impact of the Maasvlakte-2 (as an example for the problems that can be expected in the simulations with MV2) and the impacts of various island alternatives on the averaged salinity and residual flow patterns. Chapter 4 presents computations of the impact of the islands on the nearshore wave climate. At last the conclusions and recommendations for further study are presented in chapter 5.
