Expected environmental effects of the dumping of dredged material from the Port of Rotterdam at dumping site "Loswal Noord"

Describes the Dutch approach to the handling of dredged material. Addresses the Dutch policy with regard to dredged material disposal and gives a brief outline of the Dutch licensing system. Next to this more general approach the paper elaborates a little more on the REFEREE model (Risk Evaluation Framework for Estimating the Risk of Ecological Effects) and the socalled Impact Hypothesis, a method to estimate the ecological effects of dredged material dumping at sea.
