Final report : further comparative analysis of daily activity and travel patterns & development of a time-activity-based traveler benefit measure
The scope and objectives of the second phase of the time use study are discussed, followed by a presentation of the results of descriptive analyses of three time use data sets. The primary objective of the study is to gain a more fundamental understanding of travel behavior by examining individuals' time use. Also presented are a tobit model of discretionary time use applied to examine time allocation to in-home and out-of-home dicretionary activities, a structural equations model system of time use, and utility models of activity durations. Finally, welfare measures are developmed and illustrated and conclusions of the study are offered.
