Wave hindcast of the storm of 31 January 2008 : SBW Wadden Sea 2009

This report presents the results of Wave hindcast of storm of 31 January 2008. This primary objective of this hindcast is to evaluate the performance of SWAN during the considered storm event in the Amelander Zeegat. Beside this main objective, this hindcast has two research objectives: 1. Verify the current fields computed by the hydrodynamic model with ADCP measurements commissioned by RWS> 2. Investigate whether a new formulation for wave-current interaction in the wave model SWAN improves model results in storm conditions with opposing waves and current.
