Failure areas in the Hydra-models : effects of simplification and monotonization

The aim of this study is: Identification and quantification of differences that are introduced with the pragmatic solutions as described in section 1.2: • simplification of the failure mechanism (the Q-variant for dike revetments); • monotonization of the failure area (the “repairs” within the Hydra-models).
