Remote sensing computerized land evaluation system interface. Phase 2
With the use of SPOT stereo images slope and land use maps has been produced for the Luang Prabang province in Lao Peoples Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). Using these maps a land use evaluation system has been developed for an area that proved to be inaccessible, disabling the monitoring of land use changes. Land use changes were made visible by comparing the results with phase I of this project. By using the stereo satellite images the accuracy of the slope maps were improved and it showed that the prioduction of these slope maps in this manner was less time consuming. This exercise has resulted in a preliminary land evaluation system that is implemented as a transportable demo-system for markering purposes.
