New perspectives
In this paper two questions will be addressed. First an analyse how the relation between politics and science functions in practice is, and after that they discuss how the quality of this relation can be improved. Secondly they discuss how the public interest and consequently the political interest in marine environmental topics can be maintained and intensified in the future in order to ensure that the political basis for the conservation of the North Sea is strengthened.
