Simulation of the effects of dynamic travel information for a large urban area
This paper provides a summary of the methods, results and conclusions of a two-phase study, on a detailed regional basis, into the potential impacts of dynamic travel information. A time-dynamic trip packet-based simulation model, HWYSIM, was developed, which was applied to study the Amsterdam region to test the effectiveness of several different dynamic travel information scenarios. This paper provides an overview of HWYSIM and the studied alternatives, and a tabular summary with detailed study results.
