Contaminants in bird eggs in the Wadden Sea : spatial and temporal trends 1991-2000
This report documents the second assessment of the contaminant level of coastal bird eggs in the Wadden Sea carried out in the framework of the Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment Program (TMAP). The first report entailed the results of a trilateral pilot project carried out in 1996 – 1997 which had the aim to analyze the feasibility of this monitoring parameter for the TMAP and which focused mainly on the German Wadden Sea (Wad den Sea Ecosystem No. 8, 1998). After inclusion of this parameter into the TMAP in 1998, it is the first time that the whole Wadden Sea from Balg zand (Western Dutch Wadden Sea) to Langli (Ho Bugt, Denmark) is covered in a trilateral report on contaminants in bird eggs.
