Prognosis of WFD chemical status in the coastal waters of The Netherlands : Part 1 : update and validation of the Scremotox model

The primary objective of the present study is to carry out a series of model simulations for selected chemicals, aiming at establishing the effectiveness of planned emission reduction measures to achieve the relevant water quality targets. A further objective is to collect additional data and to improve the mathematical modelling, in order to increase the accuracy and reliability of the assessment mentioned above. Finally this study aims at updating previous loading estimates and source apportionment overviews complied in 2006/2007 (WL/Delft Hydraulics, 2007).
