Analyses of the cone pressuremeter test and parameter determination
The project objective is to improve of soil parameter value determination for subsequent use in geotechnical analyses. Parameter values can be obtained from both in-situ and laboratory tests, and one of the items being studied is the Cone Pressuremeter Test (CPMT). Plate 1 shows how the CPMT project evolved with time. Three major components were studied: (1) and (4) ABAQUS finite element analyses of the CPMT (2) Development of the equations for strain softening clays and their embedment in inverse program PIANO for CPMT back-analysis (3) Interpretation of field pressuremeter tests (PMT) data using program PIANO Components 2 and 3 are being reported separately (FEBV Report Nos. P-542/02 and P-542/03), and this report deals solely with Components 1 and 4.
