The beach characterisation approach in freshwater in the Netherlands

The aim of the research was to determine whether the implementation of supplementary programme's such as beach characterisation would be beneficial for coastal and freshwater sites and if so, what source of information could be obtained. A short description is given of the IJsselmeer area. The results of the beach caracterisation and the conclusion drawn from this study are discussed. Presented are the results of the additional sampling.
