Grain-size correction for the contents of butyltin compounds in sediment
Gives a scope of the investigation on what the best co-factors are for the correction of butyltin contents for differences in sediment composition. Therefore five sediment samples were taken at locations with different pollution histories. The samples were actively equilibrated for three months and subsequently seperated in 6-9 fractions through sieving and differences in settling velocity, to obtain samples with a wide range of sediment properties. All fractions were analysed and the results were evaluated through correlation of all parameters with organic carbon (OC).
