Application of the Benthic Ecosystem Quality Index 2 to benthos in Dutch transitional and coastal waters

The Dutch WFD benthos Multi-metric Index BEQI2 has applied to all benthos MWTL data from Rijkswaterstaat in the period 1991-2010. The pressure sensitivity of the BEQI2 was demonstrated for the pressures sewage/organic matter and dredging/dumping. BEQI2 ecological quality ratios (EQRs) were calculated using the BEQI2 tool.
