ADASE Advanced driver assistance systems in Europe : final report : 01.08.2001 - 31.07.2004
Overview of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in Europe (ADASE) project. ADA Systems are concepts to improve transport safety, efficiency and comfort without additional loads on resources (energy and land use), environment, and quality of life. Active safety systems in conjunction with infrastructure based roadside equipment and measures promise efficient safety systems for the future. Experience from the first phase of ADASE has shown that obstacles in the implementation of these innovative systems, like driver acceptance and reliability and interoperability of systems, are to be expected. ADASE 2 has been established as a thematic project network in the Fifth Framework Programme of the European Union, to use the state-of-the-art knowledge to generate corresponding road maps and guidance, to organise in-depth expert workshops on selected topics, and to disseminate the resulting findings and information to all relevant users and user groups and the general public. This report is part of the dissemination of information and presents results, lessons learned, and future developments.
