In order to investigate if segregation of freight traffic and car traffic could be a solution for the congestion-problems of freight traffic this study is undertaken. In the first part of the report information is given on why segregation of freight traffic and car traffic could be useful. Traffic safety and highway design are the two most important items here. The second part of the report gives possible measures for segregating freight traffic and car traffic. There is segregation on the same route and segregation on different routes.
