River restoration in Europe : practical approaches

Currently many river restoration projects are being implemented. Rivers in Europe show many similarities on one hand and important differences on the other hand. This is also reflected in the restoration approaches. The experiences gained can be used in future river estoration projects. The international conference "River Retoration 2000- Practical Approaches" focused on practical approaches in river restoration throughout Europe.
