Characterisation of Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB)
An investigation has been conducted to develop "bitumen-fingerprint"based on rheological properties and a limited number of physical and chemical properties to deal with the quest of bitumen slection, specifications, and quality control. This investigation is undertaken inview of growing interest in the application of polymer modified bitumen (PMB), which, in turn is associated to development of two layer porous asphalt and other alternative noise reducing asphalt pavement surfaces. The investigation provides insight to the characterisation of PMB that can contribute to the selection and cost-effective prediction of polymer-modified binders to be more reliable in asphalt mix pavements.
