Predicting multi-faceted activity-travel adjustment strategies in response to possible congestion pricing scenarios using an internet-based stated adaptation experiment : ALBATROSS

The study described in this report was motivated by the following two considerations: -gaining a better understanding of the effects of various pricing policies on activity-travel patterns of individuals and households; and -exploring the possibillities of linking a seperate agent or module to the Albatross model system, that would allow one to model consumer response to transportation and land use policies. In view of these motivations, a stated adaptation experiment was designed to collect data about individual responses to congestion pricing scenarios. Respondents could indicate how they would adjust the departure time, route, destination, transport mode and trip frequency, of their daily activity-travel pattern. The experiment was admitted on the Internet. This report gives the results of this study.
