Safecoast [brochure] : keeping our feet dry in the North Sea lowland

SafeCoast aims to contribute to a sustainable, harmonious and balanced development in the coastal lowlands of the North Sea Region by anticipating future climate change scenarios. A prerequisite for social progress and economic development in the cluster of 40,000 km2 large floodprone areas is a safe coast. Safety requires assessment of the risk of flooding and coastal erosion, with a clear eye for future developments. SafeCoast aims at answering the question ?How to manage our North Sea coasts in 2050?? while recognizing the need for ? and practising ? transnational co-operation and knowledge sharing to cope with unbounded coastal hazards in the future.
