Status report on the measurement at the two Dutch POLMIT sites
Describes the progress made during the first six months of the experiments at the two Dutch POLMIT sites Nieuwegein and Spaarnwoude. Includes the concentrations and fluxes in throughfall, run-off, and bulk precipitation. Furthermore, soil, soil water and groundwater analysis are also reported. Also the first results of the air program are reported. The results are generally in line with what is expected from similar research done in earlier projects. It is remarkable that there is a high input flux as the result of the sound wall which is located at 4 m from the road at Nieuwegein. Run-off fluxes are much lower than those measured at the same site in 1993/1994. This is the result of the difference in method used in POLMIT research compared to earlier studies. It is recommended to reconsider the method for measuring the contribution of the sediment flux.
