Re-induction using pooled activity-travel diary data sets : albatross
Albatross was developed and tested on activity dairy data collected in Zwijndrecht and Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht in 1997. Several empirical studies showed that the performance of the model is satisfactory or even good in terms of face validity, spatial transferability and performance relative to several utility-based models. For that reason, it was decided to further develop and extend the model in several directions that would make the model operational for application at the national scale. This report describes the results of two additional steps intended to make the system operational for national application, which were carried out simultaneously. These include re-induction of the scheduling model based on national land use, transportation and activity dairy data set and incorporating travel costs variables in the scheduling model.
