Implications of relative sea level rise on the development of the lower Nile Delta, Egypt
Discribes a newly developed quantitative methodology to assess the impact of accelerating sea level rise on the lower Nile delta. Following a systems analysis approach, a coherent set of three models was developed which cover a total shoreline length of 1260 km and a wetland area of 1800 km2 including Lake Manzala. The models are: CISCA (Coastal Infrastructure, Safety and Coast Assessment); WSBM (Water and Salt Balance Model) and LIFE (Lakes: Impacts on Fisheries and Ecology)
