Quantification of 2D subtidal bathymetry from video

Study development a new model named SBM-2DH for the quantification of two-dimensional surf zone bathymetry from time-averaged video observations. SBM-2DH updates surf zone bathemetry through assimilation of video-derived and computed patterns of roller dissipation. To that end, a new methodology was developed to quantitatively interpret merged, plan view video images. This provides the input for the sub-model that updates bathymetry, which is fully integrated in the Delft3D modelling environment, so that it benefits from existing functionality offered by the operational Delft3D model.
