Evaluation of wave run-up prediction formulas for slopes with berms

J.P. de Waal and J.W. van der Meer, both of Delft Hydraulics, have proposed empirical formulas for the prediction of wave run-up. These formulas are based on physical scale model test results. The purpose of the formulas presented by Van der Meer and De Waal is to provide designers with reliable simple relations to predict the run-up level and overtopping of waves in most common slope cases.
