Dispersion and loads of pollutants to the verge of two highways in the Netherlands : contribution to the POLMIT project

In August 1998 monitoring of throughfall, bulk precipitatin and run-off was started at two sites in the Netherlands to determine the loads of heavy metals, poly cyclic hydrocarbons and total organic carbon to the verge of the hihgways. Furthermore, soil and soil water and groundwater was analysed for these components in order to assess the impacts and compare the total quantities with EC-standards. This research was corried out during one year and sampling ended in September 1999. This report describes the results of the year monitoring.
