Uptake and release of suspended and dissolved material by oyster and mussel beds in the Bay of Marennes-Oléron (France)
Presents the results of in situ measurements - executed in benthic ecosystem tunnels - of material fluxes on oyster (Crassostrea gigas) and mussel (Mytilus edulis) beds in an area of extensive shellfish cultivation in the South-West of France in 1991 and 1992. The study is part of the TROPHEE project (Trophic capacity of an estuarine ecosystem: determination of biological criteria for the management of cultivated population of oysters and their socio economical consequences
