Analytical model for wave-related sediment transport : research report
An analytical model to determine net sediment transport rates in purely oscillatory flow is presented. The model is based on (approximate) analytical solutions to the lDV momentum and advection-diffusion equations and on the subsequent analytical integration of the sediment flux over time and depth. The result is a computationally efficient method to account for the wave-related suspended sediment transport taking into account the strong vertical variations in the near-bottom time-varying flow and concentration including the non-instantaneous response of the sediment.
