Natural dune processes and management along Atlantic coasts of Europe : conclusions from a pilot study of the Coastal guide on dune management
The pilot study looked at a number of dune areas with conditions comparable with the situation in the Netherlands: dunes with a sea defence function (either official or unofficial) on low sedimentary plains with a comparable tidal regime (Atlantic and North Sea coasts). Special attention was given to beach nourishment, beach management, tidal inlets and rivulets, and sand drift and blow-outs.
