River restoration what does it mean : the restoration of the ecosystem and/or the restoration of dynamics (monitoring the embankments of the river Hollandsche IJssel)

The Hollandsche IJssel is a severely polluted tidal river and the polluted sediment will be cleaned up. The RIZA has set up a seven-year monitoring programme, which centres on ecological, ecotoxicological and morphological aspects.
