Investigating the long-term sediment import-export trends of the Western Scheldt estuary

The current research aims to explore the morphodynamic forcing mechanisms of the estuary and to investigate what mechanisms (natural or human interventions) might be responsible for the shift from sediment import to export. Use is made of a depth averaged, numerical, process-based morphodynamic model (DELFT3D).
