Analysis of some criteria for design and operation of surface water gauging networks
The present study concerns water level measurements. The requirement of sufficient accuracy was formulated such that derived data for any site within the area covered by the network, may have a standard error of estimate equal to the standard error of measurement at the utmost. If this relation is kwown, then the possibility exists to design the distances such that the required standard error will not be exceeded.
