The influence of the tide on the concentration of suspended matter in the Marsdiep
Describes the research study on the influence of the tide on the concentration of suspended matter in the main tidal inlet of the Wadden Sea, the Marsdiep. An earlier pilot study with new developed instruments for measuring various parameters provided data that needed to be analysed with the goal to quatify the influence of the tide on the concentration of suspended matter in the water column. The study consisted of four parts: a literature study, a description of the results, a statistical analysis and a visual analysis. Cross relationships are made between the influence of wind and wave on the concentration of suspended matter in time and different components of the tide. Conclusions and recommendation on further study are given.
