The role of eutrophication models in water management

Deals with the credibility and the acceptability of eutrophication models. Credibility is defined as the technical appropriateness of the model and its results. The assessment of credibility is generally a task of the modeller and comprises that the procedure of systems analysis is followed and that uncertainties involved with predictions are considered. Acceptability is defined as the managers' perception of the practical value of the model or its results. Credibility and acceptability are specified in a set of criteria.
