Groundwater modelling in DiekA : definition study
This study briefly presents the basic theory of groundwaterflow and discusses the implementation of this theory in the ALE code of DiekA. During calculation on groundwater flow, the storage equation and the equilibrium equation have to be solved simultaneously. This is quite complex in combinatin with large deformation, where porosity, pore pressures and constraints change. However, in some cases, the equations can be simplified. Therefore, four cases are described: drained / undrained behaviour, groundwater flow and consolidation.
