The development of an integrated and open communication architecture for the roadwork is one crucial part towards an Integrated Road Transport Environment (IRTE). This document describes the weigh-in-motion (WIM) field tests and the results of the evaluation, and provides recommendations for WIM applications within the context of the GERDIEN environment.
