An experimental design of an oil water and sand separator which can be used in case of an oil spill on the beach
This report describes some traditional ways for the separation of oil water and sand, such as the Kroonproces, the Bölsingproces, cleaning by heating. The possibility of putting in practice the process by which sand is used as a demulsifier is discussed. Information is given about the working and the theoretical background of an oil water sand separation on the basis of bed expansion and the tilted plate principle.
