Many groups are involved in discussing sustainable flood risk, whether it concerns safety norms or how to keep the consequences of a possible flood under control should an unfortunate event happen. Confusion caused by the terminology arises very quickly. To prevent this from happening and to understand more clearly concepts used in hydraulic engineering, this booklet is put together.
