Some notes on the formulation of boundary requirements for a thin finite plate on a Pasternak foundation

The main purpose of this report is to open a discussion about the validity of assuming also boundary conditions in the foundation beneath a joint between two adherent concrete slabs. If so, this will enable to still use the more realistic Pasternak model (instead of the Westergaard model) in combination with a viable difference in deflections at both sides of a joint.
