Investigations on the hydraulic characteristics of synthetic fabrics

In 1971 the Delft Hydraulics Laboratory started a fundamental investigation on the hydraulic characteristics of fabrics. This report gives an outline of the research methods used and the results gained concerning: characterization of the fabric aperture; determination of the water permeability; determination of the sand tightness under static and dynamic load conditions; investigation on the blocking of fabrics.
