An assessment of the impact of autonomous intelligent cruise control
The study reported in this document concerns the assessment of the impact of Autonomous Intelligent Cruise Control (AICC) on traffic flow. For the assessment the microscopic traffic simulation model MIXIC 1.2 (MICroscopic model for Simulation of Intelligent Cruise control) was used. A review is given of recent studies that addressed the same subject. Some points of attention from these studies are used in this report. Next, a description is given of MIXIC 1.2 , followed by some calibration results. The experimental approach is described and the results of the experiments are given.
