Sustainable development of deltas SDD '98 : proceedings#international conference at the occasion of 200 year Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management#Amsterdam, The Netherlands 23-27 November, 1998
One of the greatest challenges of Rijkswaterstaat the past 200 years has been the construction of major infrastructural works in the densely populated deltas fromed by the Rhine, Meuse and Scheldt rivers, which flow through The Netherlands. During this conference Rijkswaterstaat shared experiences and exchanged ideas on various issues of future relevance with countries which also have densely populated deltas and which have to tackle a wide range of related issues as a result.
