Gulf of Khambhat : inception report
Pre-feasibility design and construction method of the closure works for the development of Gulf of Khambhat in the North-West of India. The construction of a dam in the Gulf would involve the application of manpower and material on an practically unique scale. Therefore, the design of the dam, both with regard to the structural characteristics and with regard to the method of construction, will have to be based on a fully optimized design approach. In this report the technical feasibility is analysed in a global way. The design of the final closure gaps is analysed in a global way, especially the most critical parts of the design. The compilation of this study is partly based on the lecture notes: Design of Closure Dams.
