Threats and opportunities in the coastal areas of the European Union (EU) : a scoping study

Overview of the most important opportunities and threats facing European coastal zones in the period until 2010. The report summarises current and future developments in a variety of socio-economic sectors, particularly as they relate to spatial planning issues in the different coastal regions of the EU. An assessment is made of the environmental impacts of development on natural habitats, with special emphasis on four coastal regions.
