Inner nearshore concentration and sediment fluxes

The objective of this report is to identify the causes, modes, magnitudes and directions of cross-shore sediment transport in the different hydrodynamic zones. To reach this goal, the sediment transport measurements, performed with the Beach based Electronic Registration Tower (BERT) in the inner nearshore zone, were analysed. First, the instantaneous and time-averaged sediment concentrations have been studied. Then, the suspended sediment transport have been analysed in terms of mean and oscillating transport. Next, the depth integrated suspended sediment transport and the bedload transport was examined. Finally, the total sediment transport has been analysed.
