European road user survey 2002
The main aim of this study is to identify performance indicators for user satisfaction with the Trans European Road Network (TERN), by means of interviewing professional users (lorry and coachdrivers). They are asked to evaluate the network of a country they just travelled in (most recent experience on their last trip) and as well the network of their own country. This study covers the countries Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Sweden. In this study statements were included to measure the degree of satisfaction on several items related to the road network, covering visibility of road markings, traffic signs, quality of the road surface, explanation and signing of road works, lighting along major roads, availability of places to stop and spotlessness/security of those places to stop. Furthermore the drivers were asked about information available to them, delays, personal and traffic safety and speed limits.
