The development of an integrated and open communication architecture for the roadwork is one crucial part towards an Integrated Road Transport Environment (IRTE). This document describes the system design of the weigh-in-motion (WIM) prototype and its interface to the loop detector card and roadside processor. Included are several annexes: technical annex A: WIM prototype hardware reference ; technical annex B: WIM prototype software reference ; technical annex C: UROP (Universal ROadside Processor) - WIM interface ; technical annex D: UROP WIM database ; technical annex E: vehicle categories ; technical annex F: WIM calibration.
