Urban form and energy for transportation
Considers the relationship between the form of human settlement and the function of transportation from the point of view of energy consumption. Gives summaries of other studies on energy conservation, undertaken in the Netherlands during the period 1980-1982, and internationally during 1983. A narrative and graphic model examines the relationship between energy and urban form. Perspectives for potential areas of further study, including the use of the model as a tool for reviewing plans (Almere) and planning further urbanization (region of the Hague) are discussed.
